The apartment is a 10 minute drive from the historic village of Le Grand Pressigny with bars, restaurants and local shops. The chateau in the village is of major importance in the pre-history of the region and boasts an interesting and informative museum.

Onwards from Le Grand Pressigny to Le Petit Pressigny (also a 10 minute drive), you will delight in discovering La Promenade, a Michelin starred restaurant. This is a great way of leaving the self catering behind and treating yourselves to something special.

The spa town of La Roche Posay is a 15 minute drive where you will find Spa Source, a relaxing place to spend a day. The town is well known for its healing waters and you can fill your own bottle from the free running fountain. There is also a 9 or 18 hole golf course and at The Hippodrome, there is horseracing throughout the summer. For an evening experience, there is a casino housed in a converted chateau.

From sunrise to sunset, you can enjoy the splendour of the local area!

Nature at its best

There is much to be admired in the Loire Valley from its gorgeous chateaux to its fantastic cuisine and gastronomy. But, if you want to escape all that and just enjoy the nature and the wildlife, you will find plenty to see without travelling too far.

Birdwatching in the garden is a real delight with kestrels nesting at the house and buzzards regularly flying overhead. The little owl is often seen at dusk and the barn owl heard at night. The hen harrier can also been seen regularly.

Red squirrel and hares are frequent visitors to the garden and sometimes deer and wild boar can been seen in the forest nearby.
